NEW ORLEANS, LA – March 18, 2010 – (New Orleans Hornets). The New Orleans Hornets will host Noche Latina at the Hive presented by Pan-American Life Insurance Group on Saturday, March 27 as they take on the Portland Trail Blazers. The Hornets’ inaugural Noche Latina at the Hive will be a celebration of Latin culture that will showcase Latin-themed performances throughout the evening as well as a free post-game concert at center court by the Latin group Bachata Heightz.
“Noche Latina is a great way to incorporate Latin elements into our home game that appeal to a variety of our fans,” said Hornets President Hugh Weber. “Through our partnership with Pan-American Life Insurance Group, we are providing our world-class entertainment with Latin flair.”
Zatarain’s Buzz Fest pre-game block party starts at 5:30 p.m. and features live music by New Orleans Latin band Vivaz, $1 beer and interactive games for the entire family. The Honeybees dance team will perform a Latin routine, the players will be introduced in Spanish and halftime entertainment will be provided by Raices. Bachata Heightz will perform a free post-game concert at the New Orleans Arena immediately following the game.

In addition to the Latin entertainment, the Hornets and Pan-American Life Insurance Group will award a $5,000 scholarship grant to the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation to support the future of qualifying Hispanic students.
